Saban's comment speaks the truth...
"And it's like, the guy hasn't even played yet. But that's because of our brand."
Yep..."the brand." Anyone who doesn't believe Oregon's "brand" helps with recruiting and the potential NIL$ for players is ignoring reality.
USC has "tradition" but I can't think of another Pac-12 football team with a bigger / better brand than Oregon.

I think this bodes well for the Ducks in that they have the highest ratings and interest by far in the Pac-12. Check out the 2019 nationally televised TV ratings: Oregon #1 at 47.7!, USC #2 23.6
We'll have to see how this plays out, but it goes to show that money players can get at a school aren't just from the surrounding area. That's a good thing considering that after Nike you wonder how much money is around in Eugene. Is Café Yumm! going to put up the big bucks or the Sweet Life going to offer a pie promotion? I'm being facetious of course and love that Eugene is a college town with a bunch of great local businesses.
The article you posted claimed the money isn't having an impact yet. It's hard to think it won't have an influence. I'm not sure this will help with creating a more level playing field, lowering the transfer numbers, or not be a distraction for the players. I'm still for it since the players put their body on the line and make other people millions doing it.
