First off, I wanted to thank everyone for posting and making this a great place visit. I truly enjoy coming on here to converse with everyone and talk Ducks. We have so many great post and analysis from so many folks so I truly thank everyone for making this a success.
Second, I want to apologize for not having any formal guidelines or rules on the site. We've taken a hands off approach to the site as to not moderate much, make rules, or steer conversations. The site will continue to be a place you can post anything sports related or and not be over moderated with numerous rules. You're also welcome to post about what's going on in your world and make post not related to football.
In interest of keeping a friendly atmosphere where all Ducks fans are welcome political natured post are not in the best interest of the site. I realize that issues related to politics might be in relation to football, so please just try to keep post on point to football as much as possible and reach out to oldretiredguy or myself if you have any questions. I'm all ears on how to make improvements and your feedback is welcome.
Thanks again everyone and go Ducks!

🤙🏽
I’m assuming we can talk about basketball, baseball, track, softball, and every other sport too, right? 😁
Mahaloz for putting this together. I too enjoy discussing UO sports with like minded fans.

Any sports are okay in addition to other topics. It's just the political post that I want to steer away from.
Thanks for being a regular here KONA808.

THANKS TO THE BOTH OF YOU!
I prefer this format over any other I have experienced.
Many of us were OLive commenters and while the content was good, we all experienced how osu and uw trolls made it less enjoyable.
On the flip side, as I have occasionally highlited on here, is FishDuck and it is maniacal moderator who has 32 commenting rules...all designed to minimize opinions contrary to his and his band of hitman writers despite his claims to the contrary.
By the way, his phony self-serving tear jerker "I am burned out but please tell me how great I am" exit lasted about 2 weeks.
Now he is back in full force after many of his commenters left his site and one of them formed a new platform.
When Mr. FishDuck tried to elbow his way into that platform and at one point even asking people there to go to FD and comment on another one of his pathetic "analysis" articles...he was met with pushback.
So like anyone with a massive ego, he got upset, took his toys from the sandbox and went crying back to his site... which miraculously ended his burnout!
He is a first-class jerk. If you don't worship him and kiss the ring he will toss you aside like a dish rag.
So this platform is clean, simple and enjoyable. There is a big and much better difference in my opinion when the content is COMMENTER generated(links, opinions, etc) vs SITE generated(writers, moderators, etc).
Commenters create their own headline and share their thoughts 😁
Thanks again!

Totally appreciate the prescience you guys had before the O-Live boards went dark to set this up and get the gang on board minus the Edge Rusher from Standford.
Many years ago when I left the corporate grind to set up as an independent contractor/consultant, I also left behind the water cooler talk and the Monday morning QB chatter. Was why I set up on O-Live and migrated to this forum accordingly as the only other person now in my "office" could care less about sports

Phil gets the credit for thinking ahead and creating this site. We had over 1,600 views for the tOSU game chat. I enjoy coming here to talk Ducks, and I try and put up relevent links. As for Luther the Edge Rusher from Standford...welll

I'm sure I must have refreshed 1000 times, so maybe that's not so impressive. (just kidding!)
I like this site, I like the conversation, I like the tone. I think keeping politics out is good -- I hope I didn't post something that made you feel you needed to post this. I get rolling sometimes....

first, we should credit Looger the Standford Edge Rusher somewhere in the masthead for being a co-founder of this site . . . we wouldn't be here if his 800 mannequins hadn't collapsed The O's comments section. wonder if he ever wakes up and has a moment of self-realization that he shat his own nest so bad that it fell outta the tree and crashed to the ground below? nah.
we all love the site, guys . . . thanks for the all the work you have done and continue to do.
unfortunately, it's getting harder to separate sport from politics these days, esp w the pandemic & its effects on society. my wife is in the Infectious Disease biz (I still see her from time to time) and my eldest is at pharm school in SF, so I hold some strong opinions on these matters. but I will keep trying to focus my posts as specifically as possible on 'sports'.

I was asked to moderate a board dedicated to hep c infected people (I was one) and thought "Meh, how hard could it be)..that was in July of 2001. Our main rule was "no politics". Everything was going fine until 9/11/2001...at which point I was constantly putting our fires
I like this site especially for the fact we all have a desire to talk Ducks..it's kind of a sanctuary from the constant bombardment in the news. Thank your wife for me...those folks have it tough right now. Hoping for good health for all of us.

Thanks, I enjoyed you guys minus the Edg Rusher back in the old days too.
I'm working at home now and am in the same boat.
Even when I was in the office I had deal with a couple of Huskies fans with a lot of others just being soccer or Blazers fans. I was so ecstatic when I found out the head of our HR is a Ducks fan. She was happy to talks talks and even gave me her season tickets for free on occasions.
Now at home completely it's nice to have you all on the forum. Thanks for being here.

I'm sure Luther still checks in on us and gets worked about about not being able to post!
Thanks to your wife for putting in the long hours to fight this lousy virus.
I realize things are really hot and politics are coming up in sports and other facets of life. While it may be hard to seperate I think it's for the best on this site. I've seen other comment sections get real nasty, which ends up being unproductive with folks leaving them. I've signed up for a couple of other forums this year and the 1 rule to sign up was to no politics. I think it's because of how quick things snowball out of control. Like ORG was saying we think it's best to give folks a sanctuary to just stop by and chat on a similar interest. This is not to diminish the importance of anyone else's point of view or anything like that.
Thanks for being here and joining in. It's nice to get a perspective from someone who attends games and other Ducks events on the regular.
