This is a good read and shows Browns issues with reads; the playcalling was not the issue..AB just dosen't read correctly.

Brown's play reflects how the head coach coaches the game...trying to control everything... unwilling to trust those around him...If Brown trusted his teammates he would make the "right" reads...just as if the head coach trusted the talent he recruits we would see a different version of Oregon football than we do now. What we see in Brown this year is EXACTLY what we saw in Shough last year. It is coaching.
Also I vehemently disagree with the writer trying to rationalize the 2nd and 18 pass...it was a terrible decision to pass the ball. Period. It has nothing to do with the type of play. The goal is to use clock and force Stanford to use their timeouts. Instead the incompletion gave Stanford one of their timeouts.... which they used in the waning seconds of regulation.

I saw this earlier and felt sick. Ive noticed open receivers on many occasions as well over the last 5 games.
