I don't agree that we control our own destiny. We are only ahead of Oklahoma, for instance, because they have played no good teams and barely won them. It doesn't matter where we are ranked now -- Oklahoma will pass us if they win out.
They will then have signature wins against OkSt, Baylor, and in their conference championship, as well as a solid win against Iowa State.
That will easily be enough for them to pass us while we are playing a bunch of 4-4 teams in the PAC.
I will be surprised if Oklahoma wins all those games, they just haven't been impressive. But if they do, an undefeated Oklahoma will be ahead of us, I believe. So it's a mistake to say we control our own destiny.

Ducks need to play with style points in mind the rest of the season, and starting off by CRUSHING the fuskies by 21 points with T Thompson playing the fourth quarter would be a nice start.
Go Ducks!

Oregon needs to find ways to "make statements" when they win games. Including beating Utah on the road. They also need to win BIG in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
Oregon has no ranked teams remaining on the schedule which would also most likely include the Pac-12 Championship Game. Remaining opponents for Oregon have a combined 19-14 record right now.
As one example, the luckeyes beat a ranked team last week(Penn State) and have 2 more games against Top 10 ranked teams(at the moment)...Michigan State and Michigan.
If they win out and the Ducks win out...the loss to Oregon will look like a "good loss" while at the moment Oregon's loss to Stanford is looking worse by the week...they are in last place in the North Division.
Point being, beating the luckeyes is probably not enough for Oregon to get in over them.
Maybe both could get in, but again, Oregon simply cannot just win games and hold of other contenders for the playoffs...in my opinion.
