Welcome to The Duck Room. We're an old school Oregon Ducks fan site dedicated to our University of Oregon Ducks sports. This community is centered around sharing updates, news stories, and opinions, and thoughts related to Oregon Ducks sports.

One of the best things besides the great users we have on here is that The Duck Room is completely free. Always has been and always will be. Don't be shy as everyone can post your latest thoughts on the Ducks. Just see the few simple rules below.

1. Common sense community standards apply.
2. Posts of political nature of post that would lead to such matters do not belong here, there's a whole internet for that.
3. Fans of different teams are allowed here as are difference of options, however trolling is not tolerated.
4. We have to abide by copyright laws, which means quoting an articles story and posting links works. On the contrary copy and pasting entire copyrighted stories is against the rules.

Please feel free to reach out to the Administrator Phil or our site Mod oldretiredguy with any concerns or questions. Thank you everyone.

Whatta Weekend!

Lots of stories coming out of Hate Week:

* Surprised Lake is not suspended pending an investigation into his slapping and shoving his player.  FWIW, think the UW would be smart to pursue a for-cause dismissal of Lake as the long term viability of his style and such does not seem to be aligned with the program...  If he stays at his post and WSU runs roughshod on this team, it might cost the school when they decide to fire him at that point...

* Never saw the KT raw footage of MC in the locker room.  Wish things like this never made it to the public, think that outside of something staged/planned by the Ath Dept, what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room.

*  Did the refs covertly run the clock to zero realizing that the Ducks were looking to run up the score?  Once the Ducks broke the huddle I do not recall a whistle blowing the play live.  If so, they probably avoided a fight breaking out on that play, IMO.  Regardless of how it looked, I think MC intended to run a play to score...

* Alabama is now another really good team.  They will get smoked by UGA if they meet up in the SEC Champ game, IMO...  That would mean that two spots will have opened up with Clemson and Alabama no longer in the field.  Assuming tOSU and UO run their tables along with OU, that will be the field ith hopefully Cincy matching up with Alabama in a NY6 bowl...

Like the dog days of the season when attrition and such start weeding out the contenders from the pretenders...

Maybe he'll spend the week studying grammar.

No doubt they are pining for the days when with Sark they were pretty much guaranteed 7 wins a year, no more and no less.

Lake won't be in Montlake next year, I predict.

That's probably a safe prediction, which is too bad: he's worth at least 14 points for us when we play

Re: Whatta Weekend!

I’m not a husky fan by any stretch of the imagination and it’s a program that I despise the most out of all others.

With that said, it’s complete crap to suspend Lake over that. It’s college football for pete sake, not elementary school soccer.

Re: Whatta Weekend!

Huskies fans want Lake out at all cost for any reason. But doesn't Lake still have big money on his contract? I believe his contract goes through 2024. Whether it's college football in this case or any other sports the folks holding the money hate to cut a coach less than 2 years into a big contract. Firing the OC might be a scapegoat at this point.

What a crazy hear in the Pac with Helton gone early and then the unheard of WSU situation. The Beavs are joining the party too. Cutting coaches mid-season is becoming a lot more commonplace.

Re: Whatta Weekend!

Overall the Pac-12 looks like a train wreck of a conference in football. None of which makes Oregon and Utah look better.
