The key sentence is the announcement is expected to come AFTER the Pac-12 Championship Game. Yes he could potentially miss the Rose Bowl but plenty of coaches are "missing" bowl games.

Not holding my breath on this one, he is good as gone to Akron. And good for him, he kinda got a raw deal at MSU and Mario pulled a Saban by renting him out for a couple of seasons until he got his HC shot at another program.
Assuming this is so, I am hopeful for an OC who is a QB guru that can open it up with the spread option instead of this RPO stuff that demands an excessive amount of running and hits on the QB.

I agree with using the read option rather than running your QB as much as we have been. I wonder if Musgrave would be interested if asked..MC has done a good job in replacing assistants...guess we'll see.

Most QBs would've gotten hurt enough to miss some time at this point. I wasn't sure if AB was going to make it through the season. Hopefully running him so much is a move to highlight his strengths. He's certainly a good running QB.

AB is a monster runner. He has a good sense with his feet. Problem is that his arm lures teams to stack up and dare him to go over the top. It worked in his favor in the Civil War when he hit Williams on the fly fro a TD, but that was an exception. Hoping that the gameplan has a few nuances drawn up to keep that Ute D honest...
