Tin Foil Hat On Securely

Woke up early this AM and did some light reading from Miami news sources.  Just taking a break from my regular listening of Art Bell as I try to find the “real truth” that is laying in plain sight…. RIP Art…

This Miami stuff is real and I think the odds of MC jumping are better than good.  The pieces that need to fall in place are looking to be happening very quickly:  new AD to be named in the next 24-48 hours, booster commitment to fund and build a stadium and facilities if their own and the balance of all the other Florida football programs either down or in flux.  The money they would offer would go farther in FL than in OR and yes, he would be home at his dream job.  And I don’t know about the rest of you, but if I were in that position I would make that move.

The AD announcement will be followed by an announcement that Diaz is either retained or fired.  If fired, expect the MC announcement within 24 hours from then.

Oregon will then go heavy after Chip, Fickell and then maybe take a flyer on a top OC like the guy at Pitt.  Or maybe they go Black Hat and try to lure Kiffen, Petersen or Neuheisel…

Think after that last sentence my X-Files sense has gone over the edge…. Just keeping the conversation light hearted after the Friday beat down II…

Actually, my sisters hairdresser has heard from reliable sources that Mullens has already got a deal in place to hire Bill Belichick, who will bring in Chip Kelley as his OC: we will finish with the #1 recruiting class in the nation, as multiple Alabama players enter the portal and transfer here...and you know only your hairdresser knows for sure. Now, where can I get one of those hats

Re: Tin Foil Hat On Securely

In the spirit of the tin foil hat I did see some tweets from Miami fans claiming Mario will be their next coach. A Miami fan with a Twitter claiming "according to sources" definitely falls in the tin foil hat department.

To add to the list of replacement coaches for Oregon how about Pete Carroll? He very well might be out of Seattle at the end of the year. Rather than a rebuild in the NFL he could ride off into the sunset in the familiar Pac with a team capable of winning a title.

Re: Tin Foil Hat On Securely

If MC is leaving the timing is tough for the Ducks with the early signing period. You don't want to rush a HC hire, but with the early signing period time is of the essence. This could be a real rough signing day.

I don't blame MC for leaving under the circumstances. Of all the teams I've ever followed in any sport MC has to be the hardest working coach.

What next?

Re: Tin Foil Hat On Securely

I do believe IF he goes to Miami it will be due to ONE key issue...his mother's health. That is the trigger. Now I don't think he would leave Oregon on just that issue alone but rather it has been communicated to Miami that IF they want him then a bunch of criteria have to be met. But first and foremost he would go to Miami because of his mother.

Yeah, the losses to Utah wouldn't have any sway for a guy like Mario. He's never one to back down and would want to avenge his losses with the team he built.

Re: Tin Foil Hat On Securely

if Mario decides to go, I think the game-changer is the commitment from the Billionaire Boys Club to dump heap-big $$ into the program. Canes have been a wreck for more than a decade, while the fanbase remained delusional in thinking that 17- & 18-year-old kids want to play there because Bernie Kosar and Vinny Testaverde competed for NCs under Jimmy Johnson in 1980-something.
so now they have (reportedly) a commitment to dump millions into a new stadium and ancillary facilities, coaching salaries, and showers of NIL cash for the players. Medicare fraud has always paid well in the Sunshine State.

should have known this would happen as soon as Crapzano wrote his column about why Mario was staying; just like his column four years ago about how Taggart was staying cuz JC saw Coach T with Uncle Phil and Aunt Penny at a b-ball game in PDX.

we should be worried about the recruiting class, but also about the transfer portal. Mario & staff pulled a lot of talent from the Undissolved Confederacy--James, Dorlus, Bridges, Swinson, Benson, Ashford, Jayson Jones,  all are underclassmen who might wish to play closer to home.

Oregon played poorly in both games v Utah, esp on offense & at QB. but Utes have got it going on right now. I would like to see them get the chance to play Bammy or Blue in an expanded playoff that would include P-5 conf champs. not sure their secondary would withstand an elite passing attack, but otherwise a Top Ten team. we'll find out v the Buckeyes in Pasadena.

Brave New World for Duck Football likely coming our way, and you can't stop it, Uncle Ellis. strap in. it's all part of being a fan.

Re: Tin Foil Hat On Securely

This seems awkward. Says MC has until Monday after noon to decide on Miami's offer. If he declines, Diaz is retained. Not sure I've heard this one before..
