Just going to throw my 2 cents in here. I’m lobbying for Pete Carroll to be the new Oregon HC.
Proven successful head coach at all levels
Players coach
Can coach big games
Manages talent and personalities well
Could Oregon get this hire done?

And, would be an even bigger splash than the USC and LSU hires. "Oh, you think YOU hired a big name, watch this!" We'd be instantly in the running for a bunch of five star recruits, I'd guess.
But he probably doesn't want to do that.
I'd be more in favor of this than of Urban Meyer (blech).

I mentioned Pete in the tin foil hat thread mainly joking. However, it's not an outrageous idea, perhaps improbable.
It seems like you might kind of kiss the early signing period goodbye with Pete or any other NFL coach.
To humor the suggestion: Pete might be out of Seattle and open NFL jobs are pretty much total rebuilds. He might see an opening to winning a championship with the Ducks making a perfect end to his career. You make good points on his positives.
Realistically he's probably not interested. He's getting up there and age and you would hire him knowing you would be looking for another coach real soon again. He's had success, although the Seahawks offense has been horrendous despite having a top QB in the league. You have the question if his style of football can still win.
Sure, give him a call. If he said he's interested I would be okay with it unlike Urban Meyer.

That's almost old enough to qualify to be President.

Haha, true that !
He does seem to have the energy of somebody much younger.
I couldn't believe earlier this year when I saw Bob Arum was still promoting boxing matches. I mean he wasn't that young when he was promoting Ali. He's 89 and still going strong. Maybe Pete could go another 20 years coaching, of the Ducks of course!

He hasn't coached in college since 2009 and is 70 years old...no thank you!
