Interim Coach McClendon  worked at Georgia, though his time there didn’t overlap with Lanning’s. Still, it’s interesting he didn’t bolt like several other coaches did.

It seems like neither is correct at this point. 

Canzano says 2 sources denied any type of agreement with Lanning. No Atlanta reporters with good sources did not confirm a deal either.

A mystery NFL candidate is supposed to exist.

Now's the part were you shouldn't listen to Canzano's opinion. Yesterday he said the search will wrap up by later today and now he's saying he has the feeling it could go for a while longer. He has no clue.

The waiting game continues.

I agree with what you're saying. It's just his opinions at times that often don't materialize. Like you've said before he's a columnist so his takes are meant to be entertaining to some extent. I think in his print journalism he goes with the entertainment aspect from time to time, which rubs people the wrong way sometimes. He has good sources and I must say he's the most talented writer in the greater area.
