Lots of QBs entering the transfer portal right now.
If any of the talk is true Oregon will bring in another transfer, I hope they get on it and land someone better than AB!

I haven't heard any talk on that, but I would like to see us go into next season with the QBs we have right now. Ty is probably the front runner. Both tOSU and Bama started redshirt frosh who had not thrown a pass in a meaningful game, if I'm not mistaken (which I certainly could be).

Regardless we will be starting our 4th different QB in as many seasons which is not good.
We have had successive years where the QB play has been inconsistent (Shough and Brown) with minimal improvement over the course of the season.
Since Mariota left we have had poor QB development...Herbert evolved in spite of playing for 3 head coaches not because of it.
Assuming all 3 QB's on the team remain on the team...our starter needs to come from that group.

I agree. No with the portal. I hope D Lanning goes with who's on the roster now but I'm guessing we'll have to wait and see who he hires as his OC first.

UW played the transfer game and it bit them in the ass. Wazzu played it with Leach and it worked out fine. UCLA stayed the course with their recruit instead of hitting the portal and it worked out well. $C recruits the position so well they lose more than they could ever take in.
I say get the OC in place, let these QB's in the room at UO take in some game film of the coach's work and assume they all will soak up the new playbook heading into Spring ball. If any attrition to the position between Spring and Fall camps, maybe get an insurance policy with a transfer but with no promise that he would ever see the field. Gotta go with the guys who chose to be at Oregon since Day One. Build a culture of loyalty that goes both ways...

Yep. The fact they were willing to come to Oregon to begin with, plus they are still here waiting, speaks to their loyalty, and it needs to be reciprocated, imo.

I see where Keldon Slovis of USC has entered the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility remaining. As the article I read notes, his performance went down after his freshman year.
What we don't know is if Lincoln Riley "suggested" to him to head to the portal.
The challenge at Oregon is thanks to MC there is essentially no game film on any of the 3 QB's. So what do you tell them and what do you do?

Slovis is a stud. Guy can move in the pocket and throw dimes. He is clearly a Type B guy in a Type A position of leadership. Think he would be served best to land at a place where a strong coaching staff can keep the fire lit under the offense so Slovis can just play the game. My darts on where he would land best are UNC, Iowa St., Auburn at the P5 level and at Liberty, Memphis or Tulane at the G5 level...

I agree with the both of you.

I want them to use the QBs we have as well. I just hope Cristobal and co. did a good job developing them, and if not they correct the matter ASAP.
