This makes it sound as tho MC might have had Miami on his mind a lot earlier in the season, which would not be cool IMO...

I heard rumors the talks with Miami were going on long before the Pac Championship. That might explain what looked like zero adjustments from the prior game with Utah.
It's all water under the bridge. Mario might have reached his ceiling with the Ducks anyway.

For me, in regards to M Cristobal, ignorance is bliss. I appreciate what he did for UofO during his time. Sure, I wish the Ducks were in the playoffs this year, absolutely!, but I’m slowly getting excited about what D Lanning is assembling and looking forward to next year.

What I learned from Cristobal's tenure at Oregon is coaching is far more important than recruiting.
Clemson, USC, LSU, Miami and Florida all were in the Top 11 in 2021 Team Recruiting Rankings by Rivals...including Oregon. All of those schools except Clemson have new head coaches!
Cristobal fooled me for 4-years into believing recruiting wins Championships.
WSU and osu were in contention for winning the Pac-12 North Division going into the last couple of weekends with rosters of far less talent and fewer elite recruits than Oregon.
I won't be fooled again by "coach talk" as it relates to recruiting.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Miami got stars in their eyes after the Ohio State game and put feelers out then or soon after.
Every time a team fired their coach, some fans would say, “I watched the Ohio State game, and I think we should go after Cristobal.” They obviously hadn’t done their research, I.e. watched any other games.

You are going to be miserable as long as R Mullens, Uncle Phil, and/or Nike are involved. Good luck!

What would really be uncool is if he used his mom being in the hospital as a cover (whether she was actually in one or not). Hate to be cynical, but you don't give that information to John Canzano without knowing it'll become a column. If I'm being more cynical, I'd say he learned from observing Willie Taggart what NOT to do or say on your way out, and carefully crafted everything he said to that end.
If I sound angry or upset, I'm not. I felt Cristobal had pretty much run his course. He was Oregon's "transitional man" after the breakup with Taggart.
Onward!

I agree. Initially I was pissed, but in the end it's all the same: MC is gone and we move Onward!!!
