WOW...the rich(SEC) get richer!

I am sure Kliavkoff looks at these numbers and is motivated to change the narrative for the Pac-12. It is a situation he inherited thanks to Larry Scott. It will take all members of the Pac-12 Conference to work together...it is not a one-person task nor does it change with the flip of a switch.

I wonder though...like at least 75% of the SEC football teams have little to no chance to upend the conference powers...but with payouts of over $50 million thanks to the successes of those powers(and excellent television contracts)...does anyone dare complain? Appreciate what you have.

Re: WOW...the rich(SEC) get richer!

In my opinion, it's been our university presidents, and their decision to hire and continue to retain for far too long, Larry Scott that has led to this issue. The PAC has been hanging it's hat on the olympic sports, and not investing in the football programs. College football drives the economic engine of college sports: time for the PAC to catch up. Pretty amazing to think Scott was making double what Sankey makes, yet it's Sankey who is most responsible for focusing the SEC on the revenue sports.

So what you are saying is that Texas and Oklahoma are NOT going there for increased competition???

Ha! They'll get increased competition, a lot more money, and probably never sniff the playoffs unless those are expanded.

Re: WOW...the rich(SEC) get richer!

I was listen to a Tyson Alger interview yesterday about the matter.

He thought the Ducks, Huskies, and USC, and Utah to some extent won't be affected by the lack of money. Middle teams like Cal will suffer the most in his opinion.

On a bit of a sobering note on the Pac is they collectively only signed 1 5* recruit as of right now.

Tyson thinks USC winning it all in a couple years would be good for the conference.

On the bright side he thinks the Ducks might actually be really good next year.

Football just isn't going to be as big as in the South or back East. For all things considered the Ducks have a lot of potential moving forward.

The conference hiring Kliavkoff was the right move and he should be able to right the ship as well as anybody.
