Nyara enters the WNBA draft

She had a tough start due to injuries her first two seasons..our best player the last two. Wishing her the best.

No reason to risk another injury in college.

Plus 3 players head to the transfer portal...Scherr, Parrish and Watson.

Assuming they are still a couple, I expect Scherr to go to Florida State to join boyfriend Mycah Pittman.

I think Maddie is already in Florida...that makes sense. As for the others, we aren't losing much in the way of scoring, except of course for Nyara, and totally agree she's making the smart move for her. Got some good kids coming in, so we'll see how it goes. I think losing Mark Campbell had a major impact on this team.

Re: Nyara enters the WNBA draft

Sabrina's dad weighed in on twitter. Sounds like there were some real problems this year.

Re: Nyara enters the WNBA draft

I have a better respect for Graves as a coach and a CEO of a program.  This was a program about a year or two away from title contention given the assumption that the level of talent would improve and the team would gel around a greater goal.  He admits he and staff failed to inspire and that the team expected to win by simply taking the floor at times.  It was a wildly inconsistent year that landed with a thud and it is refreshing to hear a frank assessment of what happened by the guy whose desk the buck stops at.  For sure a couple players had their noses bent out of shape by these comments and conspired to send a message by bolting.

The frustration of the tweet is something many feel but are at the same time somewhat resigned to.  Coaches can up and bolt whenever for seven figure raises and now to a degree players have a better ability to better their situations as they deem proper.  Add in the NIL insanity and it is reasonable to see how difficult it can be for the fan of a program to stay enthused...
