The RB room is getting kind of crowded..wonder if someone is entering the portal?

Hard to know. I looked at last year's stats and basically Cardwell is the only returning player who rushed for meaningful yards.
I am assuming(hoping) the QB will not be running as much and wondering if RB's will be used as more receiving options i.e. spread the ball around?

Just read on OLive where this transfer puts Oregon at 87 SCHOLARSHIP players...2 over the limit... something has to give at some point.

We're fine until the start of next season, plus several we signed won't be here till summer.

I like this kid. He fights to keep going, doesn't go down easy. He'll have a lot of runs where he'll get 1/2 yard or more (occasionally quite a bit more) than you thought he'd get because of heart. That not only means the extra yardage, it also often inspires others to play harder, too.

Safe to assume that everybody on the roster is looking at the portal. Coach is damned if he brings in a transfer and overloads a position group, coach is damned if he stands confidently pat with his postiion group and then sees 2-3 players transfer in Fall camp, leaving the cupboard bare. Witness the increased attention Preferred Walk-Ons are getting these days. They are there to snag a schollie because they know it will open up pretty quickly in this current environment. Players have decided to act as unrestricted free agents pushing coaches and their admins to act more like GM's. It's almost as if game day and wins/losses become secondary to the "business" of the game anymore for both players as well as coaches... Monday rant over...

I like what Lanning is doing in prioritizing the kids already on the roster. I believe there will be changes to this whole mess of NIL, and he doesn't seem to want to play the big money game like several other schools are doing. We actually have 3 star PWOs, including at least one kid who had offers from the Beavs
The cut off for the portal was Sunday, but kids might have put their name in sometime last week, and the University just hasn't posted them yet. We'll see. A crazy landscape out there right now for college football.

Lanning may have prioritized SOME players on the roster but not all them i.e. has brought in transfers at QB, WR and 2 RB's. I like Cota at WR but feel the other 3 were unnecessary.

Gotta trust the coaches, and what we saw in the Spring game, at least to me, is that both Ty and Jay need more development. Bo having worked with Dilly made sense. Both RBs were needed for depth, and I thought Whittington showed some nice moves. The coaches have also filled needs at CB and DL through the portal. Pretty amazing both young QBs seem to have elected to stay. Again, I trust the coaches...they know way more than I do what the team needs.
