Re: short article on Josh Conerly

Love Forsyth putting it out there to keep everything in perspective.  College football at this level is light years more competitive, faster and hard hitting than HS ball or at any of the football camps these kids gain their stars at.  He sees this all the time- kids in the recruiting machine, all "elite" prospects with tons of hype, showing up in Fall camp and getting their asses handed to them by some former 3* or even walk-on veterans who are fighting for jobs and schollies and could care less about the hype.  Add in NIL and now you got these "lesser" players fighting for a piece of that pie as well and would love to show these guys up.

Re: short article on Josh Conerly

Recruiting has taken on a culture of its own and not a good one in my opinion. Recruits put themselves on stage to make their announcement, glamour photos in their chosen school gear are splashed all over, coaches drool, predictions for both college AND NFL careers are made...and now it has trickled down to juniors and sophomores...we are talking about kids in high school. My response now when I see or hear grown adults going goo-goo-ga-ga over a high school kid is, "Since you are so convinced this kid is going to excel in college and the pros, are you going to invest $50,000 in him i.e. kind of like buying stocks?  They always act like I am crazy...I simply tell them, "Listen to yourself and then decide who is the crazy one!"
