Now we’re making Georgia’s backups look great

Oregon = O drives for a TD
Georgia = 7 for 7 drives for TD's
I know he was the DC at Georgia but was Lanning responsible for coaching tackling?

This is getting really hard to watch

Finally a “stop.”
Let’s see what TT can do…

Ouch, there’s probably a lot of dismal stats today. This looks even worse than the Utah games last year.

Bottom line for me is that after this game I am not sure what this team is or will be. No identity and no real playmakers. Hopefully they can reboot this whole thing and gone out next week with something convincing.

It was not a good showing for sure. Lots of film to evaluate. Hopefully no major injuries. Onward!

I cannot remember which sport I first heard it used but I have always believed in the necessity of "replacing numbers" with team sports.
As I have posted previously...the players responsible for like 50 of Oregon's 56 TD's last season are not on the team this season. Yes the EXPERIENCE of scoring TD's is important.
So which players score TD's this season?
So far in the Dillingham/Nix offense...nobody...even against backups. I don't believe the sky is falling after the first game but this was a terrible beginning on both sides the ball.

I don't think having last years scorers would've made much difference.
You think AB, Dye and company would've put a lot of points on the board today? Maybe a touchdown or 2 tops, maybe.
The Ducks veteran O-line wasn't getting great blocks for the run and at times they were getting totally pushed around by the inexperienced Georgia D-line.
At this point Bo Nix looks worse than AB. They actually look very similar, except AB had more running power and would sacrifice his body for a few extra yards on the run. Just one game of course.
Dye is an electric player and perhaps he could've pulled off something, but there just wasn't much room to run today
After today it's hard to say who's going to do anything on either side of the ball.

I'm rooting for Utah to save some dignity for the Pac now.

Ha Ha! That's the kind of day it's been. Utah had that game too.
Utah's a team I can root for. They seemed like they had the best chance for a playoff run in the Pac. Is is down to USC now? I'll have a hard time rooting for them. I doubt they'll be playoff material this season anyway.
The Beavs game might just be entertaining if Boise State can do something.

There is no excuse for not taking Nix out of the game and giving Thompson and / or Butterfield a chance...no excuse.
It exemplifies what I have disliked about this good 'ol southern boys arrangement from the start...
Lanning hires his buddy Dillingham and without even one practice and just a few days later, Dillingham needs a buddy so in comes Nix.
You(Lanning) are down 42-3 and you don't take Nix out even against Georgia backups?!? That is a network of friends staying loyal to each other.
Congratulations Lanning...your handpicked friends didn't even score a TD.

Considering they scored 35 against the luckeyes last season and this year's Georgia defense is minus 8 starters from last season...actually I think they would have scored perhaps 3 or 4 TD's in this game. Travis Dye is better than any player on Oregon's current roster in a similar position. AB was an average QB at BC as Nix was at Auburn...Nix is a football player but not an athlete.

I can't root for USC. Even if I could, what's the point? I don't recall USC's success during the Pete Carroll days helping the conference's reputation any. It was always just "USC and the rest."
