Winning games differently

Oregon has won differently in each of its 3 victories. Good to great teams do that.

EWU was a rebound game after getting crushed at Georgia.

BYU was a very physical win.

WSU was one of those games decided by a handful of plays...that "push" for the first down may have been the big one.

None of the previous 3 games were decided by a few plays.

My primary critique of the WSU game besides some poor choices / actions by defensive players is Oregon could have perhaps put that game out of reach much earlier had Dillingham actually tried to score TD's in the red zone.

One key reason the game was so close at the end was due to Dillingham's poor play calling on not one, not two, not 3 but 4 first half red zone possessions.

It's true the first half red zone play calling was bad. No throws to TEs or tall recievers in the end zone. However, Dilly made good adjustments in the second half. These adjustments are nice to see after suffering thru the last few seasons.

Re: Winning games differently

That's a good point and sign that the wins have been different.

The red zone may have been bad, but they sure were moving the ball well. I was surprised the smaller WSU line was able to stuff the run and we couldn't set an edge. Perhaps KD was also worried about Bo throwing a pick in the endzone.

Re: Winning games differently

Every game is going to be an adventure.  I could care less who is favored or what the line is, Oregon is going to be locked in a dogfight from here out every week as the 2022 P12 is much better than originally advertised.  Oregon's offense is still somewhat predictable, especially in the red zone, and the defense has a pantload of work to do to get better.  From here out, I see every game as a shootout with the team holding the ball last winning.  Stated this earlier, but this is much like the late 90's to early aughts when Bellotti had Tedford and Alliotti and some very talented players were putting the pieces together for some memorable runs at conference titles and BCS bowls.
