🙄 These types of articles are for those who bet / gamble on college football. Otherwise they are worth nothing.
Oregon has yet to play the most difficult part of their schedule; UCLA has already beaten 2 good teams Oregon will face...UW and Utah.
The irony is these types of articles are what head coaches hope their players ignore / don't read / dismiss.
I remember how promising the season looked last season after Oregon beat the luckeyes.
One game at a time.

I don't gamble at all. Odds are a gauge of how the team is viewed nationally. A lot of people look at them for entertainment. It's just another form of a power ranking with the potential of less bias.Â
Anything can happen and odds certainly aren't a crystal ball.Â
I'm not sure we'll win the conference championship as it won't be easy and we still have a young team and staff. The energy of the team seems so good and the coaches have shown the ability to adjust so I feel like this season end well.Â
From a coaching perspective I definitely agree you take the one game at a time approach and never have a team look at odds like this.Â

I looked at the rankings(AP) and the good news is Oregon is the highest ranked 1-loss team at #12. The bad news is the 11 teams ahead of them are undefeated as well as TCU at #13 and Syracuse at #18. There are also some very good 1-loss teams as well.
Obviously that is going to change massively over the second half of the season but to have any chance of making the Playoffs(First Playoff Selection Committee rankings come out November 1st) it begins with winning the Pac-12 Championship Game (beyond the one game at a time).
It used to be winning your Division but now it is about having one of the 2 best Conference records to make into the title game.
The reality is Oregon(or UCLA or USC or Utah) could have a great season and not be in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
At this point I am thankful the Pac-12 has increased credibility with the seasons some teams are having(see rankings). The Conference looks like it will have a very competitive second half of the season.
