Earlier the Canes were down 17-7 at half. As of now it's back to a 3 point game. Even if they win I don't think this is what their fans or the media were predicting this year. ESPN just gave Mario a D+ midseason grade ranking.
Poor QB production is really something Ducks fans aren't surprised about from a Mario team. KD's success this year really furthers the notion that MC stifles offensive production.
Even MC's supposed biggest upside of the O line is being challenged as the Canes isn't good and regressing and the Ducks line is playing better than ever. Andrew Nemec brought this up earlier this week. He pointed out that the Ducks have arguably the best O line in the game, yet you might only be looking at 1 playing on Sundays from the starters next season. He credits Klemm with really developing and coaching up the line this season.
To be fair Mario brings a lot to a program and left the Ducks off in a good position. I'm not rooting against him and don't hold a grudge by any means. It's just really exciting to watch the Ducks this season and it's hard not to make comparisons to the way things were under MC.
I'm wondering if MC will still be able to recruit well if he doesn't get things turned around. He possibly can as it doesn't make sense to fans like me that you can still recruit really well despite seemingly being a subpar game coach and developer of talent.

Duke 45 / Miami 21
Miami had 8 turnovers...5 fumbles and 3 INT's...the most by any P5 Conference game since 2009! 😂😂😂
I am not rooting against Mario...just hoping his opponents beat Miami! Semantics is wonderful 😂
Mario left Oregon with talent and good individual players but a frustrating team to watch.
Their first 2 games against Bethune and Southern Mississippi they scored a combined 100 points which skews their average and is around half the points they have scored all season.
Take away those 2 games and they are averaging about 20 points a game 😂

Miami just got the #2 ranked commit over Florida and Alabama. Mario is still able to do what he does best I guess.
I'm listening to Andrew's podcast and he's saying parents were telling him that Mario was recruiting for Miami while still coaching for the Ducks last year. I'm not feeling so bad about being critical of Mario this year.

Mario recruits players to play for him and his process. He could always intimate to a recruit that yeah, it’s Oregon, but the process is in place to get you to the league. Now that he is at UM he literally has nowhere to go with that spiel, he is exactly where he wants to be with a legacy in place at that program. No buts, the Jimmy Johnson era 2.0 is being built and anything short if that will be considered a failure. See Taggart, Willie-FSU…
