If you haven't followed Canzano in his new gig...he projects a much different vibe than his Olive days...more tolerable in my opinion. I still find his cutesy rhetorical questions to be annoying i.e. "That sure was fun wasn't it?"
A good read.

That was a good read.
What do folks think of Bill Oram?
His Ducks articles don't do a lot for me. I get the idea he must be more of an NBA guy. After the BYU game he wrote about the Ducks being more smash than flash littered with question marks and asking if you can believe the Ducks are more smash than flash now. It left me wondering if he had watched the Ducks much since Chip or something. In yesterday's article he referenced Helfrich being "an offensive wizard".
Besides not seeming to know a lot about the Ducks he hasn't really included interviews and sources to talk about. He hasn't wrote anything off putting and his writing style is decent. It might just take him some time. Just my opinion, perhaps others are really liking his Ducks articles. I thought his articles on the Blazers were a lot better.

Agree..Oram's writing has been underwhelming but he is definitely experience heavy in the NBA... covered the Lakers for nearly a decade between the Orange County Register and The Athletic.
Also was the beat writer for the Utah Jazz for about 4-years.
Maybe it takes some practice covering teams from a distance...UO and osu...and while he is a Native Oregonian(Tillamook) so the state is not new to him...I think he would be best served by minimizing historical references / comparisons when writing about Oregon and osu football teams.
He didn't cover college football in Oregon so he should not write as if he did so. He should let other people make his points who were around by interviewing them.
