I agree. No Helfrich. Helfrich is a good guy, but I feel his success was off of what Chip started. Chip was the HC/OC for our Ducks, and Matt Nagy was the HC/OC for the Bears. As soon as other coaches started catching on to what the Ducks were running, Helfrich could not adjust.
Helfrich to the fuskies? Do it!

I don't like this idea at all. I do not like it. Nope.
He's too good to be kicking around other schools in the PAC, especially the Huskies. Like they don't have enough motivation to beat us already.
Ugh

I always thought Mark was a good OC, but not sure they don't need someone who is a better recruiter. Would certainly provide an extra story line when next we beat/meet the fuskies.

Does anyone have info on names being discussed for our new offensive coordinator? I'd be curious about any names at all. Would maybe give us some idea of where MC wants to take the offense.
This info is about a week old. James Crepa had this list of names: Rhett Lashlee, SMU OC, Frank Pence, Louisville QB coach, Ken Dorsey, Buffalo Bills QB coach, Derek Dooley, Missouri OC, Mike Sanford, Utah St. OC, Brennan Marion, William & Mary OC and Rob Chudzinski, former Cleveland Browns head coach & OC, Carolina Panthers, Indy Colts OC. He is also a long time friend of Mario Cristobal.

I just read Musgrave to Cal. Hope it’s not true, but if so I wish him well. I wouldn’t trade the Ducks coaching staff for Cal’s but man, that’s too many Ducks down in Berkeley!

To me, first and foremost, I believe Cristobal will look for someone who will fit into "the process." Definitely he will want someone who is strong at recruiting. Perhaps someone who has experience developing young QB's too. I am not convinced the scheme, "system" and philosophy of play calling is the priority. Helton brought Harrell in to "save" the USC offense after Kingsbury bolted 30-some days into the job. It is hard for me to visualize that type of scenario happening with a Cristobal hire. While fans may feel a sense of urgency with the hiring of the OC, I don't think that same feeling exists with Cristobal. Oregon is not desperate per se, so I expect a thorough due diligence.

Stunning to me how much this has been kept under wraps. Virtually no rumors and certainly none about anyone we would want. Perhaps nothing is being done yet and that is why the there has been nothing leaked

Yep. I'm hearing the same thing. Turning the place into ex-Ducks central, tho Greatwood is retiring.

I would imagine a lot of initial groundwork has been laid, but prep for the Rose Bowl would have taken first priority. Probably begin to hear more soon.

I agree. There's is probably more going on than we know about. Some teams . . . both college and NFL . . . are still playing. I can't help but wonder if that may be a factor.
Like Elmer Fudd says Shhh! Be ver-wee quiet.

Canzano just put up his broadcast with Coach Cristobal, part of which focused on the OC hire. Fairly vague but it does give a little perspective on timelines, the process, etc.

He's not my favorite either, but he does post some good interviews now and then. Here's the summary...
He's working on it right now. He's travelling right now. The list of his candidates is a good list and it has shrunk. No real timeline. He'd like it to be sooner rather than later, but he needs to make sure he gets it right. He'll pull the trigger when he knows it's right.
As always, he's saying the right things and is working hard.
