Honeymoon with Lanning is over

I've been a Lanning cheerleader since day one.

No more.

Singlehandedly (some may disagree) choking away our two biggest rivalry games and throwing away our chance at first... the Natty....then Rose Bowl with boneheaded and idiotically, arrogant decisions and clueless leadership... is too much for me to forgive at the moment.

Big changes need to be made: First, Lanning needs to embark on the laborious task of dislodging his own head out of his arrogant and flippant ass. Then needs to hold Lorig and Lupoi accountable for the horrid, season-long performance of both of their units and demand improvement and accountability. Possible new direction for both coordinator positions.

Finally, Dilly:

Thanks for your service asshole!! You were fun for a couple minutes but got stale real quick. I honestly hope you fail miserably at ASU, and I am really flabbergasted that ASU is so desperate as to hire you. I can only laugh and shake my head at how far that institution has fallen. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out! Good riddance!!

Yes, I've been drinking

......heavily

Re: Honeymoon with Lanning is over

🍻🍻🍻 I'm cracking another beer and watching the Apple Cup. I don't really know if I even want to watch football.

The start of the 4th seemed like an easy finish and I was wondering if Ty was going to come in and other starters would be pulled since it looked like an easy win.

Lupoi should be in the hot seat a lot more than he has been. It's also concerning that DL wasn't able to intervene to save the defense and you wonder if DL's Georgia defense was all Kirby Smart. The players seem to play hard for DL so I can at least give him that.

🍻🍻🍻

A bitter ending to a strange season, but I sure did enjoy the eight wins in a row.. Have a couple for me

Re: Honeymoon with Lanning is over

Well well well...what an interesting transformation from you.

I didn't like the Lanning or Dillingham hires from the start.

Then, mistakenly I now realize, I walked back that dislike pre-uw game...now I am back to my original position...hiring young kids who in turn hire young kids is going to backfire at some point. Experience matters.

There isn't one reasonable argument to suggest Lanning is a "defensive coach." He is a fair-weather coach as is Dilly running the offense. When the "bad weather" comes, they are lost, confused and irrational.

FYI...After Dillingham left Florida State for Oregon they went from the bottom third in the ACC in Total Offense to #2! Proving much like Herbert made Cristobal look good; Nix made Dillingham look good not the other way around.

I have always believed a team takes on the personality of its head coach and this is definitely true for Oregon under Lanning.

"Detached" is an accurate description. When things started to unravel against osu the head coach and team were passively detached from what was happening. When you are detached then stupid, careless and reckless mistakes happen.

So here we are...Oregon pays a steep price while Lanning learns on the job. The question is will he really learn?

Meaningless bowl game to come followed by over hyped recruiting "successes"...yet osu had a 3* RB tear through our defense and our "defensive" head coach.

Well sometimes the truth just smashes you in the face.

After a restless night of sleep, I still wake up a bitterly disappointed fan this morning. Losing both of our rivalry games in such maddening fashion will take a long while for me to get over.

I've said before, I am way too emotional as fan. I bleed green and yellow and Oregon is in my DNA. I live and die by the Ducks and it's unhealthy at times. But I can't change my stripes. Hopefully before I die, the Ducks will win a Natty.

I still have faith that Lanning could be the guy for us. He'll get every opportunity to prove himself here. But he needs to make changes to his program. He needs to learn from his mistakes. Will he? Can he?

I'm not giving up on Lanning, but the last 3 weeks have made me a sceptic going forward.
