OC Hotboard

Good suggestion DR.
I'll pin this one also, and all are welcome to post anything you hear. I think the search will be done soon, but we'll see. The portal opens 12/5, and ESD is coming soon as well. Hope we don't land in the Vegas Bowl this year. I keep hearing the Holiday Bowl. Hope so.

OK, so a name I'm hearing a lot is Joe Brady, currently with the Bills. I'm not sure how much credence to give the rumors, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Bruce Feldman said he asked Brady, who said it was absolutely not happening.

But a million coaches say that, so not everyone believes him.

So a name that has surfaced is Will Stein of UTSA.

I think Crepea reported it as a done deal.

Re: OC Hotboard

“Will Stein has a background in Tom Herman’s offense, as does Oregon TEs coach Drew Mehringer. Melding the existing Oregon offense to what Stein ran at UTSA should be rather seamless.”

Looks like that's who it is..I know nothing about him, but his offenses seem prolific both running and passing. A young up and comer.

Re: OC Hotboard

well well well,
Wikipedia has already updated his bio, so it must be official. three years ago he was coaching a HS team in Texas, so you can't get any more 'up & coming' than that. he should be sticking around for two or three years, minimum.
so what's Bo gonna do?

I haven't heard yet what Bo's draft grade is, but I think the fact he's playing in the bowl game is a good sign. I'l like to have him back as a bridge to Dante.

Re: OC Hotboard

@org
two services linked below; neither has Nix in its top 20 of next year's draft prospects. would likely not be drafted. might be in his best interest to play another year at UO, and run an offense more aligned with the next level. show the scouts that you can make those NFL throws. Dante is not projected as a running QB either. I can't wait to hear Stein articulate what his plans are for the O next year.
maybe wishful thinking, but his alternative to Eugene might be Saskatchewan.

I have to think that at least this hire is enticing to Bo. Dude wants to throw it downfield, a little more than Dilly, so a QBs dream. Stein played the position for 4 years at Louisville, and is not that far removed from those days, so maybe can develope some relationships easier.

I'll unpin this thread, since we all know who our OC will be.
