It is official...UCLA going to Big Ten

I was hoping the Regents would block the move just to create chaos!😂

Interesting though how they have to "reimburse" Cal.

Lots of opinions and predictions...the money grab aside, I think this is a downer for the athletes, student body and fan base.

What will be interesting is recruiting for all sports...I really believe there are plenty of SoCal kids who want to stay closer to home as in the locations of their opponents...can you imagine going to USC and UCLA and your nearest opponent is Nebraska(if my off the top of my head geography is accurate😁)?

Anyway now we know for sure what is going to happen. I will be looking for Wilner's column on this topic.

Yep, I can just see UCLA fans traveling to Minnesota in November
It's about nothing more than money.

I think UCLA fans traveling to Pasadena is tough enough based on the crowd sizes this season.  Since they cannot draw fans, might as well bag that TV cash...  Terrible...

That said, I am hopeful with the new playoff format that UO/UW and the Four Corners stand pat while adding San Diego St.  Perplexed about a 12th team.  Fresno St and UNLV are intriguing possibilities...

I think both bring pretty good opportunities for eyeballs, and both have a solid and growing base of D1 recruits. Wouldn't hurt my feelings any if both joined. The one issue for me is that Oregon can't get locked into any long term deal. Going to the B1G is still the best option, imo.

Re: It is official...UCLA going to Big Ten

I have to believe at this point Kliavkoff has secured a significant commitment from the remaining Pac-12 schools that they are "in" as far as a media rights deal because no company is going to invest in a conference where some schools have the option for a quick exit. Not happening.

Oregon can't have it both ways.

Personally I like Oregon's chances a whole lot better staying in the Pac-12 and competing to get in the soon to be expanded football playoffs than being buried in the Big Ten.

Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Maryland...are in the Eastern Time Zone...for the life of me I fail to understand how that benefits Oregon...not just in football but all sports?

Also the money doesn't guarantee this whole USC and UCLA thing will actually work. They may be begging in a few years to come back for non-monetary reasons? Glad they are going to be the sacrificial lambs.

Thankfully Oregon has decided for the monent to stand pat and potentially be a major player in the "new" Pac-12🙏
