I hate to be hyperbolic, but is anyone else ready for a change at the helm of the men's BBall program?
Dana's teams have become almost un-watchable. Getting curb-stomped by an extremely mediocre Colorado squad tonight was embarrassing. Plenty of talent but very little to show for it. Has he lost his fire? Has the game passed him by? What???? His teams look lost and don't give a lot of effort. Zero consistency.
Altman is a legendary coach and a Hall-of-Famer..........but no one cares about Oregon Men's basketball anymore. The program needs a bolt of new energy and a new direction.

I don't know what the answer is but Ducks basketball is currently unwatchable. Couldn't agree with you more. I saw the first seven minutes or so and changed the channel. As you said, lots of talent on this squad but they are playing as individuals instead of a team concept. Two players that I wonder about are Guerrier and Soares. Guerrier is shooting 41% from the filed and 57% from the line. Soares is shooting 34% from the field. I cringe when either one lets loose with a long shot. Of course, to be fair, it's not just them. With Couisnard and Bittle back in the lineup it will give the other players some extra rest on the bench. I would hope Barthelemy would make a return soon as he would also help. Until then I don't think the Ducks will win very many games this season.

Yeah this waiting for them to peak at the proverbial "right time" is getting old.
I do think the player leadership has been woefully lacking since Payton Pritchard graduated...but that is also a head coach issue.
Personally, I have never been overly impressed with Will Richardson in the context of making others around him better. He also looks the same to me physically(or maybe a little bulkier) since his freshman year i.e. does he train?
I wasn't surprised he returned to Oregon after declaring for the Draft last season...I can guess what NBA personnel told him.

Richardson is just too inconsistent and is not a leader in the classic sense. He is obviously very talented but just takes too many plays and .... whole games...... off. A true leader doesn't do that. I have nothing personal against Will, but I happily await the end of his reign at Oregon.
Especially agree about Soares. He's had about one great game this year. If this team does eventually get healthy, I just can't see him continuing as a starter.
Why is Altman playing head games with Ware??? It seems like every year Dana picks on one player where he will insert him into the game and literally pull him right back out after a single missed shot or a turnover. Twice against Colorado Ware played for like 30 seconds and was pulled. Dana seems to have a problem coaching 5 star All-American type recruits. Even the 5 star one and dones we've had really have been nothing special while at Oregon. I've always thought Dana plays psychological games with some of his players and slowly drains their confidence and makes them play tentative, worrying about every dribble, pass and shot rather than just playing with their natural competitive instincts. I've grown really tired of it.
Hence, my original opinion why Oregon needs to change directions with the program. It brings me no joy in saying it and I'd be overjoyed if I was completely wrong. I have massive respect for Altman and his career. But there's no denying the recent 3 year trajectory and attendance at games is a good indication that fans have no interest in the product we are fielding, and I think also, the manner in which he assembles his team each year....almost a complete roster turnover each season. There is no more team building. No more reason for fans to invest in caring about results.
Ok going on too long here, but I have been super depressed with the basketball program. I see nowhere to place blame other than squarely on the head coach. He continually recruits like a champ but can't seem to coach them up to even be competitive anymore. Maybe coach needs a change of scenery as well?
