    Had tears in my eyes reading this column in part because I know the situation well from my father's journey.

    Blessings to the Riley family and anyone else on this path.

    IMO, these are the types of stories where John excels. A sad situation; my grandma went thru that and it was very sad. I have a good friend with dementia..a Vietnam vet...it's tough for his wife. Think I'll stop in there my next trip to the valley. Thanx, DR.

    Great article.  John is very good at human interest stories.  The subject is painful for anyone who has dealt with this even from the periphery.  The concept of being in a continued state of mourning is spot on.  

    Always thought very highly of Riley and glad he has the resources to help manage his wife and her care in an all-hands-on-deck life situation.
