More than the bravado chatter, I had no idea the uw made that big of jump nationally in Total Offense from 2021(ranked #114) to 2022(ranked #2)!
So I wondered what 2 other schools with new head coaches / QB's did as well in the same category... Oregon and USC.
Oregon went from #51 to #6
USC from #23 to #3
As well, UCLA with a returning head coach / QB went from #30 to #4.
So yes, Pac-12 teams ranked #2,3,4 and 6 in the nation last season in Total Offense...sandwiched around Tennessee at #1 and Georgia at #5.
Looking ahead at 2023...there is little doubt Pac-12 offenses are going to be very good and nearly impossible to stop for an entire game...sooooo...other factors may be the deciding factors in games... defense, special teams and game management by head coaches.
