Oregon baseball won its first ever Pac-12 Championship in a wonderful dynamic...osu choking itself out of the competition; beating the #1 seed Stanford; then the Huskies in the semifinals before winning the title and an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament 🥳
Congratulations to head coach Mark Wasikowski and the entire team😁

Stanford is the Pac-12 champion, finishing first in the regular-season standings, and the only P-12 team to play host to a Regional. (Sixteen Regional hosts; eight from the SEC, four from the ACC.)
Ducks, after suffering through a miserable month w/o their two best pitchers, were on the bubble for even making the tournament, so they helped themselves greatly by winning the post-season tournament and earning a #2 seed (27 overall).
OS coulda played host to a Regional if it finished strongly, but the crap-out in the tourney sent Bevos to Baton Rouge as a #2 seed.
this Ducks team can hit the hell outta the ball, score runs, and field. Was has only four left-handed pitchers on the entire staff--all of them freshmen. Roseburg's Jace Stoffal established himself as a stalwart Friday starter (three-time P-12 Pitcher of the Week), but he's been out approx six weeks with an unspecified injury.
not much chance that Oregon will come out of the Vandy regional; even on a Happy Path of three consecutive wins, Ducks don't have enough quality pitchers. unless they somehow reproduce the 16-11 W we saw v Sparky after the Spring Football Game.
still, pretty good year & some entertaining baseball.
