More BS or a real deal with numbers...guess we'll see tomorrow...

It's Arizona calling GK's bluff. They are already as much as gone, but my feeling is that they want the info so as to "leak" it to the public before the door hits them on the way out.

No deal yet and I’m not seeing the numbers or provider given.
The same old waiting game with nothing but endless speculation and rumors running wild.

Just insane; call another meeting, and same old wait and see. I'm hearing it involves a lot of streaming. I don't stream, and depending on price, not sure I would. That does mean probably even less visibility than PAC-12 networks. I do think that Oregon is planning on staying in a diluted PAC unless the B1G comes calling. This just sucks.

more info / speculation here, and a talking head. ESPN is generally more reliable than rumor-mongers on substacks or the shout shows.
might not be the $$ that everybody wanted upfront. but having Apple as a partner, and offering a cafeteria-style selection of packages (whole conf, just Ducks, etc.) might be the best that we can do.
also been reading elsewhere that there might be a sliding-scale, and that actual amounts received by the member schools could be dependent on viewership numbers / hits or whatever metric applies to the medium. that would also make sense.
git er done Billy Bob.

My first concern is the "subscription" numbers. I sure can't afford to subscribe. I think any deal that depends mostly on streaming is doomed to fail. We heard this schtick from Scott years ago. I like that it would be a short term deal, but I just don't think streaming only should be an option. Lots of mistakes along the way, coupled with a healthy dose of arrogance. For me, the B12 is the best option if we make a move now, unless the B1G decides to move now and takes us in, with , I'm assuming, Washington. If we wait, we'll have to expand, and then become a glorified Mountain West league. Damn!!!

I just don't see a viable option for Oregon but to stay in the Pac whatever and try and make this disaster work somehow. I'll be forced to stream but I'm not happy about it.
It's hard to digest how the Conference of Champions has become the Conference of Chumps in the blink of an eye.

The Apple subscription option all but eliminates the casual fans of the programs in the conference and folks who might tune in while flipping channels or perusing the guide. That ain’t gonna excite the schools…. The schools will reject this before the weekend and the PAC is dissolved by the end of next week…. Swami sez…😎

On a personal level I actually like the streaming option. I haven't had cable in 10+ years. I'm technically an old millenial and I've noticed a lot of people my age and younger are cord cutters.
That being said the lack of exposure and lack of money doesn't work. I know people out east that like watching the Ducks as casual fans at best. Casual fans aren't going to shell out for what's left of the Pac.
Just maybe the extra stream revenue could make this work? My gut reaction is that it's not enough.

I think you're right Phil that it may not be enough. The scary part about staying in a watered down conference is you will not recruit top players from across the nation like we have been. Also, the Ducks will be running with an armful of marbles trying to retain commits and existing players from transferring. Personally, I have been a Ducks fan for years but am not sure I would pay to watch an inferior league by streaming. There would only be two games worth watching, Washington (yuck) and the Beavers. I don't like to see the demise of the PAC with all its' history, but the sensible direction for the Ducks would be to join the BIG and not the BIG 12.

Well, for a little levity, the one good thing out of all of this might be not having to hear Bill Walton say "Conference of Champions" every other sentence calling Bball games.
Yup, finally awake from football summer slumber. It is just about football season isn't it? Pac-1 right? Damn it Jim, I'm just a Doctor, not a blathering college football league analyst!!

Well, things are heating up in terms of the B1G offering UO and Udub. Lots of articles speculating about when this will go down. I doubt we need to post all the articles, but I can if people want. Apparently the B1G has given it's commish authorization to explore expansion, and possibly quite soon. Lots of board meetings being scheduled. I'll post anything relevant that seems worthwhile. I'm not thrilled personally, but it is what it is. Lots of blame to go around as to why the PAC died,

You can say that again about Walton. Last year he started up with "This isn't a truck stop conference". I good for a couple Walton rants every year.
Hopefully we'll have a resolution to this mess soon.
Welcome back!
