Rumors are circulating about the B1G adding 4 teams in the next week. Supposedly the Ducks and Huskies would be the 2 from the Pac with 2 ACC additions.
Certainly huge news if this isn’t just smoke.

This move would probably cement the collapse of not just the PAC, but the ACC as well. What would stop the SEC and/or the Big 12 from poaching Miami, VATech, UNC and Syracuse, etc. in the next couple of weeks?
This is creating not even keeled P5 super conferences, but rather competing leagues a la the AFL vs NFL. The boon in this is that now you don’t negotiate to being Clemson to Autzen, you allow the scheduling to take care of that. My only hope is that there is a way to preserve the Civil War game as it is one of the longest running rivalries in the history of the game…
The casualties of all of this are the minor sports. Sorry, but it is terrible that UO volleyball would have a regular season road game at FSU or vice versa.

The travel for all the non revenue sports will be brutal. I do think the Civil War can be maintained if both schools agree: Ducks could schedule it as an OOC game. I hate all this personally, but money talks

New Pac 12 rumors heating up.
Wilner just reported that talks are in the preliminary stages.
Also a figure of just getting a 50% cut to start. The 30 million would still be more than what the Pac deal has to offer.

Don't know about y'all but all of this shit just makes we wanna puke!
Honestly, (naively?) I'm still holding on to a glimmer of hope that somehow the Western teams will stick together and tell FOX, ESPN, BIG10 BIG 12 to go and F themselves.
I'm just pissed.

I think it absolutely sucks, but the PAC staying together and expanding does not look like a viable option anymore.

It really stinks. I wish we could go back in time and right the ship. Larry should've been sent packing
ASAP
As much as saving the Pac for nostalgic reasons would be ideal it just doesn't seem like a good long term solution in reality. I'm afraid the current media deal would drift the Ducks into something like a Major League baseball team switching to a Triple-A team. The money and exposure just isn't going to field a competitive team in the long run.
I'm a Ducks fan for live and will continue to watch and follow them even if things go south and they're not a part of a major conference anymore. The Ducks just beat the Buckeyes a couple years ago and won a playoff game to compete in the Championship Game not long before that. Even if they can't win a title I rather watch them competing with an outside shot for a big run versus being a top team in second tier conference.
It's really too bad the leadership has run the Pac into the ground and this is what our options are.
