I'm very confident Oregon would have put up a better fight, given our defense.

I certainly do not think Oregon would have beaten LSU, but it would not have been the same kind of game.  Oregon's D would have hindered Burrow and the LSU offense for sure, and Oregon would have put up more than 14 points.  How many more times will Oklahoma get into the playoff and just get SMOKED?

Why are we as Duck fans so willing to concede this? As I watched this game, I just kept thinking how Oregon was better IN EVERY phase of the game than Oklahoma. Burrows would have had at least two ints yesterday against a Duck secondary, and Oregon would have held the ball and sustained drives at a much higher rate.

I think Oregon not only would have been in the game, they could have won it.

You might be right.  I feel like we're not quite there yet.  Little things like the fiasco in Tempe and some of the inconsistencies on both O and D (mostly O), as well as the depth just not quite being what the top playoff teams have typically - these are the reasons I'm not convinced.  Every year there is a HUGE disparity between the top 3 playoff teams and the #4 seed, and this year was no different.  I happen to loathe the playoff in its current format, and I kind of consider it to be a rigged system.  Consequently I don't really take it too seriously and I was relieved when UO made the Rose Bowl instead of the 4 team circus...Still, you might be right about a matchup between UO and LSU - I just don't quite see it that way.
 

I think the Ducks would have made a better showing than Oklahoma but probably would not have beaten LSU.  They look dominant in all phases right now.  I don’t see Clemson beating them.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Clemson can hang. I could be wrong but I don’t think their defense will hold up. tOSU absolutely gave that game away with way too many mental errors.

Hope that trend continues at least through game two next season.😂
