Exactly! My reaction to Lanning's pre-game speech differed from Oram's...he gasped; I laughed.
Oregon has been for at least a decade and is now.... abundantly about clicks...100,000 uniform combinations; they even wear uniforms that aren't Oregon colors; now cleats that change colors - Oregon is click bait central.
Now that the game is in the rear view mirror; the media has correctly noted the Ducks as having the superior team while exposing the hypocrisy of Lanning's MUCH HYPED pre-game talk and related issues.
As well, Phil Knight understands it all by his comment to Sanders pre-game on the field.
Bill Oram offers his own perspective...

I think everyone's tired of trolling. You have nothing but near constant negativity towards all things Oregon.
After a game like that myself and probably nearly every single Ducks fan is really proud of DL and can understand what coaching and motivating players is about.
This is a Ducks forum and you don't have to be here. It's time to join a Buffs group and change your name to BuffsReign.
Your anti-Ducks shtick needs to be taken elsewhere.

We get it, you cannot stand Dan Lanning or his staff. I am not sure why, I guess you are pissed because Oregon did not hire an old fart coach with years of mediocre experience that cannot recruit or identify with 18–22-year-olds and bring Oregon back to the 1970's. Without Dan Lanning, Oregon would have been lucky to win 6 games last year and this year would be looking at a 4-5 win season.
Also, what is Phil Knight understanding with his comment? Sanders is paid $10 million a year by Nike. Phil is not stupid.

As for the uniforms and shoes, that's called marketing. You do remember Rob saying we were fine being called Nike U? I honestly don't see any hypocrisy; it's the media driving the narrative. Reading your anti-Lanning screed, I thought Orem was really bashing DL, but he was actually fairly complimentary of Dan, acknowledging Dan does know what he's doing, and doesn't need that block by Deion. You bet he knew he had an audience, players and recruits. I thought everything Dan did this weekend worked to pull the hype from Deion and put it on the Ducks. I love our coach, and obviously you don't. But to knock UO itself makes me truly question your priorities.

Wow. You really hit the nail on the head.
He still hasn't recovered from Oregon not hiring Wilcox. Let that simmer for a moment.
Hated the Lanning hire. Still does. That's the crux of this whole issue.

He wanted it before he didn't.
( from what I heard, Oregon offered him the job and he was going to accept but then he found out Oregon seriously wanted him to recruit well and actually win games. He obviously didn't like the sounds of that, so he tucked tail back to the low expectations and comfy climes of Berkely)

After reading DucksReign comments about Oregon and Coach Dan Lanning, I'm wondering if he is an old Duck fan like me. When Oregon was looking for a new coach and Justin Wilcox name was mentioned, I told myself that the Ducks would be an average, middle of the pack team if he was hired. I believe he felt the immense pressure to win at Eugene would be a real challenge instead of the no-win, laid back mentality of Berkeley. I was on board with the Lanning hire. I knew Oregon would get their butts kicked by Georgia, just didn't think it would be as bad as it turned out. I was very disappointed with the results of the Huskies/Beavers games. That left a bad taste in everybody's mouth, except maybe DucksReign. Coach Lanning can redeem himself by winning those games this year. And looking to next year, does anyone have any info on when the B1G will come out with next year's football schedule? Looking forward to seeing that. Go Ducks!

The way I view it is that Lanning is seeing the light at Oregon and what it means to be the HC in this particular program. Yeah, the gig comes with a huge marketing and branding and a bit of nonsense to attract eyeballs, it's how Oregon transcended from a middle of the road football program to becoming a top 10 attraction over time. Lanning seems to have figured out what Helfrich, Taggart and Cristobal could not- that platitudes and hype and looking good do not translate to wins. That ass whooping at Georgia did a real number on Lanning, and you can tell that it still burns based on his comments this week post-CU ass whooping. He is on a mission to develop a national championship caliber team and I like the way he is taking the role of the underdog thru this season to date to remind his players that uniforms don't make plays or win games. It's not all there yet, as we saw with a mixed bag at TTU, but he gets "it." We most likely won't be undefeated this season, but we will show up and play, and that is what he is building this year. I sure as hell hope he can bring in another fired up QB or that Novosad is a grinder, because Nix is another coach out there and will be difficult to replace. Thompson ain't that guy, sorry to say- his body language and such are just boring at best...

This is the most recent article I found; the actual schedule I don't know.

I agree with you on Thompson. I want to like him, he's got a great arm and runs pretty well, but his body language isn't that of a leader. He seems like he is in a bubble of his own out there, whereas Nix looks like Sean Connery in the con of the Red October.
