Heard about it on the radio on the way home from work.
Just tragic. We lost a great Duck today.

His career at Oregon in football was barely blip...only played in 14 games!
Freshman: Ineligible to play on varsity(same for all freshmen)
Sophomore: Season ending injury after 3 games
Junior: Played 11 games
Senior: Sat out the season
In order to "expire" his college eligibility and be able to enter the 1975 NFL Draft, he enrolled at Oregon State and then was drafted by the New England Patriots.
His NFL career was far more illustrious than his college career.
Threw the javelin at Oregon in track and field...set a national high school record in event.

I want to say that the late Art Skipper, Jr. broke his HS javelin record before setting more records at Oregon...
