Re: Oregons 2024 B1G schedule

my personal concierge at the UO AD, a sweet young thang named L____, has called me twice in the past three weeks just to chat. make sure that I'm enjoying the games (she can see that I've attended by the ticket & parking-pass scans). ask me if there's anything else she can do (I've been asking for two years to tone down Pip the Cabin Boy during the TV timeouts, but I don't see that happening).

I believe November 15 is the first day current season-tic holders can secure next season's tics and enroll in a payment plan. can't wait for that Fat Boy to coming screaming across the sky.
but it'$ all good.

Re: Oregons 2024 B1G schedule

Maybe it's just me but looking at that schedule makes me VERY sad. I just haven't come to grips with these Big10 matchups. I just look at it with glassy eyes, slack jaw and a turned-up nose. I will never get used to this.

A 13 game regular season? WTF? And if we should get to CCG and a potential 3 games in playoff would be a 17 game season! The Big has done no favors to its new West Coast brethren. Especially the Ducks.

Even an Ohio State match-up in Autzen doesn't penetrate my melancholy. Glad you're excited, OMM. Guess I'm just a Debbie Downer.

Re: Oregons 2024 B1G schedule

The Big 10 has nothing to do with the 13-game schedule. Playing at Hawaii allows teams to add the extra game and it was already scheduled prior to the move to the Big 10.
Count me in as one that is excited with the move to the Big 10. The PAC is dead, time to move on to bigger and better things.

Re: Oregons 2024 B1G schedule

I'm a little mixed as far as being excited and bummed about some of the new matchups.

Looking at the start of this year the games I really cared about were the Red Raiders, Huskies, Utes, Trojans, and Beavs. Moving to the B1G only eliminates 2 of those games and for that matter. I'll probably miss the Utes the most and like I've said before they were a relatively recent add-on. The Beavs fans have been so beligrant and narcissistic it's makes it at times hard to feel bad even though they're getting the short end of the stick in the way everything has played out.

Stanford used to be fun to watch because they used to be a good team. I'll be happy to lose their beyond pathetic fan base though. Cal isn't that much better for that matter. The AZ schools have been a shrug your shoulder middle of the road type fans and matchups. I'll take the Buckeyes and Michigan all day over watching most all of the other Pac schools.

Looking to next year the schedule looks relatively tough. Barring a good QB transfer I don't think the Ducks will be in the playoff hunt like they are now. The "I told you so" critics will be waving their fingers at what might even be a halfway decent season next year. That's fine because I think the Ducks are in the process of building great teams that can compete in the B1G or anywhere else.

I'm still going to miss the Pac and lament over how many ways this got screwed up and destroyed. At the same time I'm looking forward to a lot of the new matchups and road ahead.

P.S. My goodness, it's about time we beat Boise State. They're not the same team they used to be and I wish they were to settle up the score if you will.

Been saying this all season.  I don't think Ty is going to be the guy next season.  DL needs a field general and Ty's body language is pretty clear that he does not have "it."  In my opinion.

While I think it not great to keep going to the transfer well each time you need to replace a star QB, I see a big reason to do so after this season and hope that Novosad is developing so soem depth is in play.

I know folks are passionately on either side of this issue, just my two cents...

Agree with you, JJ, Thompson is not the answer. Some lunatic on the internet suggested Archie Manning will transfer out of Texas and his first choice would be the Ducks!! Bwahaha! I think they may be looking to get a graduate transfer to come in. We don't need another quarterback with no experience. The future is now. It does not appear any team now is willing to develop a rookie quarterback. Even Chip has given up this year on Dante Moore.

Re: Oregons 2024 B1G schedule

Remember, the playoffs expand to 12 teams next year, and I feel Ducks will be in that field if we can bring in a quality QB, and I think we will. Ty has just not shown enough growth, particularly between the ears, and we haven't seen enough of Austin to know what he can do.
My feelings are there is nothing we can do about the overall issue, the death of the PAC, and I look forward to a lot of new matchups in the B1G!!!

Re: Oregons 2024 B1G schedule

I agree with everyone that Thompson isn't the answer.

Going into next year with the schedule you afford to have what we've seen of Thompson or a play a freshman. It's not the NFL were you would just consider tanking for a year and snagging a top QB in the draft.

More than ever could transfer QB's will be available. The Ducks are getting all kinds of attention this year with Bo. They would have a real good pitch to bring in a good transfer.

That's a good reminder on the playoffs going to 12 and changing everything. Michigan might hit with  some big penalties too?

Re: Oregons 2024 B1G schedule

Another vote that Ty is not the answer. Wish he was, but there is no “there” there. Novosad?  Spell check doesn’t like his name ….. wants to type “No I sad”. Hmm, hope that is not foretelling 🙄. I’m counting on a Lanning snag from the portal.

Re: Oregons 2024 B1G schedule

I've been off the Ty bandwagon since his first snaps as a Duck.

Hate to pile on the kid as he has been a loyal Duck and is obviously a team player. But this is big time football and after 3 (4?) years in the program it's obvious Ty will never get the chance to be the guy.
