Just popping in to share my love for Liberty University. My kid was a National Merit Finalist in HS and was awarded a full boat scholarship (tuition, room and board) for six years, earning two degrees and graduating Summa Cum Laude. Knowing what kids and parents go thru these days in the pursuit of a degree, we feel very fortunate that a university would roll out the carpet for high achievers with a dedication to build them up even more. It’s just too bad that a bad leader was in place for so long it tarnished the school’s reputation. The faculty, campus and facilities are top notch and it just keeps growing….
Never thought this matchup would ever have occurred and I am betting on being the only Duck fan out there truly looking forward to this game…🤓

I have driven past Liberty University in Virginia, it is a beautiful campus and I was amazed at the large size!
Congratulations, Jiffy Jeff on your child's success!

That is awesome JJ. Sounds like your kid worked hard and was rewarded; good on ya!!!

Small world …. my best friends son (all 3 of us O grads) is a partner in the architectural firm that designed most of the work on that campus.

Huckleberry Oram can barely contain his glee over Oregon losing the P-12 Championship game to UW and being consigned to the Fiesta Bowl v Liberty. because the Ducks deserved it for what they've done to his beloved Bevos. and he will wallow in it every chance he gets.
here is Huckleberry's post-game story from last Friday . . .
Nix still managed to lead Oregon on four touchdown drives on Friday, including two in the third quarter to help the Ducks take a 24-20 lead after trailing by 17 points shortly before halftime.
He lamented his third-quarter interception after his Washington counterpart, Michael Penix Jr., had thrown a pick to the Ducks’ Khyree Jackson. The Ducks were nursing a lead and the way the offense had been clicking on its previous drives, was in position to give themselves some breathing room.
Instead, Nix’s third interception of the season would prove to be his most costly.
“It’s those kinds of things that leave you scratching your head,” Nix said. “It hurts.”
Washington proceeded to score and reclaim the lead, then after a sputtering five-play series from the Ducks, scored again.
NOPE
UW led 20-17 when Bo threw the INT. and the Dawgs did not 'proceed to score'. Ducks stopped them on 4th down with the Nikko sack of Penix. and then Bo ripped off that long run and Ducks took the lead 24-20 on JJ2 run.
Huckleberry seems to lack some of the basic skills for doing his job.

I sent him a nasty email, not that he even reads “fan” mail. What a turd. Can’t believe the Oregonian allowed it to be e-printed.

@JJ
Congratulations on your son’s accomplishments. That’s great and I would imagine it’s a thrilling moment for the football team and the school to play in the bowl after going undefeated.

Thanks for the kind words.
Regarding the challenge facing Liberty, I tend to reflect on Hoosiers when the coach has the team measure the floor, the height of the basket, etc. While there may exist a disparity in talent, the conditions for the game are identical for both teams.
I’m a Duck grad ‘92 and remember when it was fun to be ranked and then the excitement of making a bowl game. Because of my secondary affiliation with LU, I am enjoying that feeling again as a fan. I’ll be at a Duck watch party with my buddies for the game but will don my LU gear for the game. Not to troll, but in the spirit of fun. I’ll get crap from them, but it’s all good crap that only guys understand….

That is cool and what sports is all about... to have fun. Too many people in this day and age get no enjoyment from sports and just bitch and moan when all does not go the way they want or expect it to be. When I was a kid starting as a Duck fan in the 60's, the idea of Oregon being at the level they have been for the last 25 years seemed impossible. But it is real, and I enjoy every minute of it, win, lose, or draw.
