Ducks basketball is snake bit
The Ducks lost today to the Syracuse Orange 83-63. Besides the injuries to Dante, Bittle, Zarzuela and Cook, Barthelemy was a scratch today as he has an ankle injury. Five scholarship players all injured at the same time! That leaves the required minimum of seven scholarship players to play a game. What happens if yet another player goes down? Do they have to forfeit the game or can it be rescheduled. I can't remember it being this bad for Duck basketball. And with the beginning of the conference games starting on Thursday, December 28th, I don't see Oregon winning a single game until some of their injured players return.

Best to buckle up and do what you can with the rest of the non-con slate and maybe get a walk-on from the football or baseball or track team to provide some temporary depth, at least so as to have scrimmages in practice. As per norm anymore for Altman, he will rely on conference play and success to push for a tourney bid. Players pushed by coaches thru injuries is a not a good narrative anymore with the portal being so volatile and social media being what it is.
