Wow!

Guess I can't blame you.

It's interesting because this week, of all weeks, I can't imagine him posting negatively about the football OR basketball staffs. Just came off a 12 win season with a Fiesta Bowl trophy and the glorious end to Bo Nix's career here at Oregon. Can't say enough about Bo! He's hands down on of my top3 quarterbacks ever at Oregon. So proud of that young man! Basketball team has exceeded expectations while faced with injuries and it seems the sky could indeed be the limit this year. It's a good time to be a DUCK!!

Too bad about DR. It's no secret he and I didn't get along. I thought he could be a great contributor, but yes, he always seems to have had an axe to grind. I think he blew a fuse when we hired Dan Lanning instead of Josh Wilcox and he never recovered. Then proceeded to ridicule and deride many of Lanning's hires: Dilly,Locklyn,Stein and Terry were lol and wtf hires for him and an indictment of Lanning's ineptitude and idiocy. Turns out.........those are 4 of the best damn hires he's made at Oregon!!  Why dig the grave before these coaches take their first breath?? 

I though perhaps he and I could have a bit of fun with our adversarial relationship. A message board can be boring if there's not perhaps a little quibbling and needling and bit of good-natured back and forth. He didn't seem like that kind of guy. He ended up not even acknowledging my existence lol.

Ah well......no hard feelings on my end.

Yeah, the decision wasn't made lightly as ORG said. 

We don't moderate much and banning accounts hasn't been an step we've needed with the exception of a Loother troll account shortly after the site was created. 

Things just got way out of hand when nearly every post seemed like it was meant just to push buttons. As ORG said it didn't seem much different than the trolls that use to be on the Oregonian. 

I enjoy a good counter point and argument and it's by no means to disagree or be negative at times. Like you said Duckball it's good to have a little quibbling. Things just went way past that and other members specifically left because of it in the past. 

I'm real happy and appreciate the folks we have in here talking Ducks.

Yeah, I don't think DR had a sense of humor at all, always seemed like he had an agenda and screw everyone else. I think you nailed it on the Wilcox thing, he just could not believe we hired Lanning, and it was downhill from there. I can be pretty sure that had we hired Wilcox, the Ducks would not have been near as good as they are. 
 

DR thinks he knows more than the Duck coaches and administration. He does not.
The idea of Wilcox being hired made me cringe; I was very happy he turned down the job. With Wilcox, 95% of the current roster would not be in place and the Ducks would be facing 6–7-win seasons (or worse). Without Lanning, Oregon would probably not have gotten the Big 10 offer and who knows where we would have landed. The future is bright with Lanning, DR could not acknowledge that at all. Evidently, he preferred the 1980's level of play to what we presently have.
