Re: Holiday Bowl

lots of chatter about the kid being offered $$ to transfer; says he's staying . . .
https://saturdayroad.com/north-carolina-tar-heels/north-carolina-qb-drake-maye-addresses-transfer-rumors/

will be good to see Mack Brown again. last time we saw him he was being forcibly retired by Nick Aliotti's defense in the Alamo Bowl.

Re: Holiday Bowl

If Nix doesn't play, we should just go ahead and forfeit.

It wasn't confirmed until Lanning did so tonight in his press conference.

Obviously, Lanning doesn't much like the portal and where it's headed for college football. He seemed to infer that maybe this isn't really all that great for student athletes in the long run either. My take anyways.

Lanning might value loyalty and stability, which bodes well for UO if he lives what he values.  That said, we covered in a different thread that the HC has to recruit HS, the portal and his own team every season on top of coaching his coaches and coaching the game.  It is a tall task, and why so few are do very good at it.
